On Saturday night, the Penrith Bears continued their home dominance of the ice with another smashing win against Sydney rivals the Ice Dogs.
The game was opened by His Worship, Penrith Mayor Greg Davies and Bears major sponsor Ian Garton of Penrith Valley McDonalds.
Once the official dropping of the puck was done, the Bears turned it on for the supporters, and in record time, Bears #11 Vladan Stransky scored in the first 40 seconds.
The Bears continued to dominate, with another five goals to the Dogs one. Scorers for the evening were Bears Vladan Stransky, Robert Franchini, Vlady Rubes (2) and Murray Wand (2). The game was all one sided, as the Ice Dogs had no answer to the powerful Bears play and skill.
The only way the Ice Dogs could try and turn the game around, was to instigate some rough play and minor fighting.
The referee in control had many offending players in the penalty box, which slowed the game down otherwise the Bears may have racked up more than the six goals already on the score board.
The next few games, the Bears are playing away, but looking forward to entertaining the Penrith home crowd at its next home game on July 19 against the Newcastle Northstars.
